2025 Wedding Floral Trends that Aren't TOO Trendy

2025 Wedding Floral Trends that Aren't TOO Trendy

Some brides are traditional, some are ultra-unique, and some want to be on, or even AHEAD of the trends! If that’s you here are some “floral trends” that are’t TOO trendy for 2025 brides.

1. Vibrant Color Palettes

When it comes to creating a lively and engaging atmosphere, vibrant color palettes are hard to beat. These color schemes can set the mood for your entire event, helping to create a joyful and energetic ambiance. Imagine lush arrangements bursting with rich reds, cheerful yellows, and vibrant purples; the right colors can ignite excitement and pull guests into a festive spirit. Think about incorporating colors that not only complement each other but also reflect your event’s theme.

A great way to explore vibrant palettes is to consider the seasonal blooms available to you. For instance, spring is known for its lively pastel shades, while summer bursts with bright, saturated hues. Mixing colors can be remarkably effective, so don’t shy away from placing contrasting shades next to each other. A bold combination of orange and pink or a striking pairing of deep blue against sunny yellow can create stunning visual elements that grab everyone’s attention.

2. Monochromatic Arrangements

For a sophisticated and elegant touch, monochromatic arrangements can never disappoint. This design trend embraces the beauty of a single color, allowing its various shades and textures to shine through.

I often think of monochromatic florals as kind of… edgy! If you love buttery-yellow, imagine just going all out with that color! Or even dark purple?? Even the most unsuspecting wedding colors can be incredible statements that set your wedding apart. For example, I used to be a big “hater” of the color red, but one of the most fun elopements we’ve done was RED EVERYTHING. Red roses, red ranunculus, red carnations, red filler, and it was so bold and unique!

3. Sustainable Floral Choices

Sustainability is more than just a trend; it’s a movement that’s reshaping many industries, flowers included. Today’s consumers are increasingly drawn to eco-friendly options, embracing flower designs that reflect their values. By selecting sustainably sourced blooms and supporting local growers, you’re not just enhancing your event – you’re making a positive impact on the environment. This approach urges floral designers to be creative within the constraints of responsible sourcing.

Incorporating seasonal and locally grown flowers into your arrangements is the cornerstone of sustainable floral design. These choices not only reduce carbon footprints but also often showcase blooms that are fresher and more vibrant. We source a large percentage of our flowers from local flower farms during the Missouri growing season from April until late October and often base our designs around what’s in season!

4. Mixing Textures

One of the most exciting aspects of flower design is the ability to combine different textures to create a rich visual experience. Mixing textures helps arrangements become captivating focal points, drawing guests in for a closer look. For example, pairing soft petals with rough branches or velvety leaves brings your arrangements to life and adds that little bit of magic that elevates your event. This contrast in textures keeps the eye moving and engages guests in a multi-dimensional way.

When mixing textures, consider utilizing flowers and foliage that vary in shape, size, and surface feel. When Fleur thinks of these unique wedding flower combinations we often think of our more “alternative” brides! One of my favorite styled shoots that we’ve done included a mass of calla lilies and queens anne’s lace, both very different but so complimentary!

5. Floral Installations

Floral installations have emerged as spectacular focal points for events, bringing an element of drama and elegance that is hard to replicate. These installations create stunning backdrops for photographs and can transform any venue into a botanical paradise. Whether you opt for a simple arch adorned with climbing vines and delicate flowers or an extravagant installation overflowing with blooms, these designs will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your guests.

And it’s not just arbors! Think hanging greenery, unique floral-filled seating charts, and bunches of blooms that crawl up table-ends!

An installation can also speak volumes about your event’s theme or style. These floral masterpieces help establish the mood and make every corner of your event a photo-worthy moment, ensuring guests will remember your occasion fondly.

6. Wildflower Aesthetics

This is soooo “Missouri”! The wildflower aesthetic celebrates the beauty of nature in its untamed form, bringing a refreshing approach to flower design. By sourcing and arranging a variety of wildflowers, you can create arrangements that feel organic and relaxed, capturing the charm of wildfields and untamed gardens. This approach is perfect for outdoor events, imparting a sense of whimsy and carefree spirit, making guests feel as if they’ve stepped into a sun-kissed meadow.

To achieve this look, focus on incorporating informal arrangements with a plethora of colors and shapes. Think of daisies, poppies, and cornflowers sprouting harmoniously among rich greenery. This design trend embodies the very essence of nature’s spontaneity, suggesting that beauty can also be found in seemingly chaotic arrangements. It’s an invitation for guests to connect with nature, urging them to relax and enjoy the event in a charmingly rustic atmosphere.

7. Incorporating Local Blooms

Are you noticing a theme yet? We LOVE LOCALLY GROWN FLOWERS! Incorporating local blooms is a beautiful way to celebrate your region while enhancing your floral designs. By using flowers that are grown in your area, you support local farming efforts and bring freshness to your arrangements that imported blooms simply cannot match. This trend fosters a connection to the environment and enriches the experience for your guests, allowing them to appreciate the essence of the locale through the lens of floral artistry.

Local blooms often vary by season, so collaborating with local florists can lead to delightful surprises, such as discovering unique varieties that reflect the character of your community. For example, using wildflowers from nearby fields or local garden roses will resonate with guests as an authentic expression of your space. Choosing local also opens up opportunities for storytelling, showcasing the beauty of the flowers native to your area and enhancing your decor with personal touches.
